Texas: Comparison of Registered Voter Counts to Census Voting Age Population

A comparison of US Census voting age population data in Texas to voter registration data shows 18 counties with more voters than census voting age population.   Another 5 counties have 95+% of the voting age population registered to vote.

Eight Texas counties have a history of over a decade with more voters than voting age population:  Duval, Kenedy, Oldham, Roberts, Terrell, Trinity, Walker, Zavala.

Many counties show voting-age population growth higher than  voter registration growth.  A growing illegal immigrant population in Texas may be part of the explanation. More…
