Nebraska: Comparison of Registered Voter Counts to Census Voting Age Population

A comparison of US Census voting age population data in Nebraska to voter registration data shows some problems with the maintenance of voter lists in some of the smallest counties of the state.

Charts by county for the years 2000 to 2012 show how counties are maintaining their voter lists.

The larger counties in Nebraska have reasonable numbers of registered voters compared to voting age census population, but have fairly high numbers of “inactive” voters, which isĀ  a measure of voter list bloat. More…
